both 18 volt. I wanted a light, compact, battery powered chainsaw for light firewood cutting for remote camping that could be charged with my portable solar electric generator.
Black & Decker is more compact but Ryobi wins overall with better battery, charger, & operation.
Ryobi also has other tools, many useful for camping that use the same 18v battery pack. Lights, lantern, fan, inflator, radio.
