Com : Roy : I made a good living, at my own pace with a backyard foundry. Cheap to make and once word gets around you would be surprised how loaded up with work you can get. I did everything from lead to cast iron. Slso had the major machines in a shop, milling machine, CD surface grinder, contact wheel grinders, band saw, cut off saw and lathe.
Com : Adam : People are so negative. It looks cool, that’s the purpose. It’s also a learning experience and fun project. Maybe it’s for his dad or grandpa and will go on a mantel.
Com : Shann : I’d love to pour some cast brass hand wheels from brass shells.
Where can one buy the casting sand?
Could I use old brass padlocks as well as old brass shells?
I’d need a 3D printer, to make the plastic hand wheel mold positive shape!
Pretty keen to have a go!
