Construction machinery is the name given to multi-purpose machines used in various works (highway construction, maintenance and repair, water canals construction, soil excavation, loading and spreading, etc.) in the construction and building industry.
Construction machines are generally divided into two as tracked and wheeled. It is also possible to classify them according to the areas they are used externally.
The largest construction machine manufactured in the world is the Bagger288 rotating bucket excavator made by the German industrial company Krupp and used mostly in mining and road cutting operations. This machine is 95 m high and 215 m long and weighs 45,500 tons.
There are 20 buckets in total on the rotating bucket drum with a diameter of 22 meters and each bucket has a capacity of 196 tons of excavation and can move 3.920 tons of soil or rock excavation in one round.
This machine, which requires 5 operators for operation, has 12 tracked undercarriages, each 3.80 m wide and 15 m long. With Bagger288, which holds the title of the world's largest construction machine, it is possible to lift more than 76,500 m³ of excavation per day.
