Always amazing that people think a couple hundred pounds of people on a rope can control a couple THOUSAND pounds of off balance tree.
Regarding the first guy... are there more correct methods? He seemed to anticipate the swing. He seems properly geared up. He didn't drop the saw and let it swing around. He seems competent to me.
After watching a few of these videos, I have come to the conclusion that one should hire someone to drop trees for most people. They have three things the average fool who can afford to buy a chainsaw doesn’t possess. Intelligence, experience and liability insurance.
I fell trees for a living and doesn’t matter if you have zero or 50 years experience, you can easily get killed . But a lot of these were just human error
PMSL - the one where the tree caught on fire was just like a road-runner cartoon, like where as if things could get any worse (maybe a truck or a plane crashed into him ?)
You know I have done this work for a long time an not all of these people are dumb unfortunately things like this do happen some of these tree guy go to work an don't know if they will come home alive but someone's got to do it right
