Grassilage at a biogas plant in Redwitz.
In operation was a Krone Big X 650 and various Fendt with Silagewägen.
For the production of grass silage, the cultivation of intensively cultivated meadows is used, on the other hand the cutting is used specially for cultivated arable grass. If the feed is produced from the growth of meadows, it naturally contains the biomass of all plants grown on the areas harvested. As a rule these are besides sweet grasses also herbs and legumes. When arable grass is used, the species composition depends essentially on the seed mixture. Both the culture of individual species, e.g. Of the German ryegrass, as well as the use of mixed species such as the Landsberger mixture or, especially in organic farming, clover grass mixtures (Kleegras).
