Many years ago while working on a industrial site i had to walk through a welders shop one day and caught a Flash off a welders torch in my eye ,tell you what it hurt like hell for a couple of days .Never do that again thats for sure ,its only when something happens you realise why safety gear exists .
It is one of the fundamental maintenance, the buckets suffer a lot of wear depending on the clear material, and if the teeth and reinforcements are not reinforced and replaced periodically, the useful life of the bucket will decrease a lot and it will mean a significant economic expense.
Two pad eyes on the either side of the bucket would have made rigging much easier hopefully you'll not be putting so much stress on d slings rubbing d edges.
Never seen someone actually use those cheap ass hand held masks that are given away with welders. Also pretty rare seeing someone weld without gloves. Think maybe that combo was why the guy with the grinder was spending so much time cleaning up the newly welded areas.
The older looking gentleman, clean jeans and shirt/undershirt working on the bucket? I get the impression he came out of the office for the video.
