To keep the tracks and right-of-way in good condition, railroads sometimes use a Jordan Spreader to recharge ballast and dirt along the tracks.
This slides the ballast and pushes it sideways so that the pallets discharge properly so the pallet stays in better condition for longer. It's pretty rare to see this type of transaction!
We first see them working near 37th Ave NE at the top of Shoreham Hill in Minneapolis.
This was Soo Line's main comeback in the day, and the couple was watched once. Forcing the soo emitter is a Canadian Pacific SD30C-ECO. The emitter itself is powered by a Detroit Diesel and has a distinctive sound.
After making a few passes, we'll land on the Johnson St NE line. We'll take a closer look and do a few passes. Additionally, the drone will give us a bird's eye view, and we can see its huge hydraulic arms expanding as it passes.
