I previously had tour multiple times in different ship's such as carrier's and other small ship's such as the USA Trenton before discontinued. I was facinated by all the engineering and architectural design intelligence and inventions of the intellectual.
Deployed on USS Whidbey Island LSD 41 to Norway and the Mediterranean as part of USS Wasp ARG in 1995 which included USS Shreveport LPD 12. Later served on USS Wasp LHD 1 2000-03
Right now the USN can’t maintain the few amphibious ships for readiness. A recent exercise in the Sea of Japan was cancelled because they didn’t have the ships to support the Marines in an exercise. Given the Chinese threat, this is a real problem. Looking good and being good are two different issues. Being good is we’re we need to be.
Think for just a moment as to how pitifully slow all of those rotary wing aircraft are compared to missiles and drones! It will be a slaughter!
