a D10 would be the best way to knock the tree down but we had other work for the excavator to do while he was here and you would have a hard job finding a D10 with a root rake anywhere around here as clearing trees is banned in Australia, dam greenies, you can get permission but only if your willing to wait years for them to make up there minds about if your going to damage the environment, freehold country in Australia should be called greenie controlled country.
Thanks for the reply. The gum trees were brought in for the mining industry in the early 1900s. No local trees would grow as fast or as straight as the gum trees, so no local wood could be used for mining props. These characteristics mean the gum trees just out compete everything else and take over. So, typically, solving one problem created another! Hope the rest of the irrigator went in as smoothly.
