As a Panamanian I navigated the canal twice, I know the riverbanks on both coasts well and there is a lot of history that people do not know, there is a lot to tell about that wonder, from its beginnings to today. It begins with the French Canal, its successes and failures, the entry of the Americans, the first attempt at expansion before the Second World War, the current expansion, the three bridges built, the fourth bridge that is starting soon, and the immediate future. I had the greatest pleasure of growing up in the fifties  in the Canal Zone......  My folks moved there in '49 and left in 57.......   Today, I still am in touch with my fellow classmates and have always considered my life in Panama as THE highlight
