This episode explores and reviews the installation process of onshore wind farms. We have managed to put together a step-by-step guide on how exactly these gigantic mysterious structures are transported, assembled, and installed. Big thanks to ERBI, Peikko Group, LM Wind Power, DOLL Fahrzeugbau, GE Europe and, MidAmerican Energy Company for all the amazing informative footage.
You know what, I actually appreciate these kinds of videos, I don't have anything to do with windmills, but stuff like this makes my day just a little more interesting, so thank you Quantum Tech HD, for giving me interesting content to watch.
Some people wonder why the first layer of concrete is poured without forms or steel re-enforcement. That first layer (concrete) is an upgrade over the previous base layer of gravel. The base layer is called the mat. As a person that has received basic crane operator instruction. I marvel at the skill of the crane operators and the engineers that design them. Congratulations to all involved. This last 20 years has seen tremendous leaps in capability.
A superb Engineering miracle and the way each project phase is captured and assigned a different music beat was awesome. Excellent Job on editing. An Overall Incredible job done!!!! Excellent and love this :
As a wind turbine commissioner, I am involved in the last phase of a brand new wind farm. We are the first ones to turn them on, upload paremeter software and run the turbines for a specific number of hours before they are actually bought by the wind farm owner. My hat is off to all the people involved in the construction of these marvelous machines.
Those are amazing devices. I used to work for a shipyard and we had a facility on the port, and there was a set of three turbine blades lined up on their special trucks waiting for shipment by boat somewhere. If you've ever seen the entrance to the port of Everett you'd be scratching your head at how they got the things in there lol, they're huge. Pictures don't do them justice, when you're standing 20 feet away and it's dwarfing you, you'll understand lol.
