I’m thinking about getting one for my cat 308 but I see a lot of disagreement on how wide is safe for the excavator.
Guys who use them a lot however seem to universally wish they had bought a wider one. Several people who use similar weight excavators to mine (19K+/-) bought 48” but now wish they had 72” rakes. What do you think?
While I understand why you removed the hedgerows,
I am disappointed that you did so. Songbirds use those hedgerows to raise their young and for winter shelter, and deer use them as travel corridors for cover while crossing large open tracts of farmland. While in my teens, these same types of hedgerows you are removing, provided me with hours daily of rabbit and
Bob white quail hunting, as well as red fox and raccoon trapping. These hedgerows also provide windbreaks, stopping soil erosion and help trop blowing a drifting snow and provide winter shelter for birds and wildlife. By removing hedgerows, you are eliminating food and shelter for wildlife and eliminating opportunities for hunters of all ages to enjoy the outdoors.
